What to Wear:
Probably the question I get asked the most is, what should I or we wear to the photoshoot? My answer is: depends on the location. If you choose an urban/downtown location then I would suggest BRIGHT colors, patterns, textures & lots of fun layers. Accessories such as: leggings, boots, vests, head-bands, eclectic jewelry, hats, scarves are all great additions to spicing up the pics. If you choose a natural/mountainous location as your backdrop I would suggest more streamline, simple, neutral clothes. You can still add texture & layers, just a little more subdued so as to not take away from the beautiful surroundings.

As far as family photos & doing the "matchy-matchy" thing, I'll be honest with you----that's OUT!!! Not a favorite look personally, I think they end up looking cheesy & corny. I would prefer you "blend" colors, meaning you could all choose up to 3 or 4 different color combinations, but make a way for them to compliment each other vs. distract & clash. Some examples might be pinks, browns & whites or blues, greens & creams, etc. You can still mix & match patterns/textures (polka-dots, stripes, etc).

For newborns I typically end up shooting them nude, in diapers or wrapping them in blankets, scarves, hats, etc.

For children, I would suggest bringing several outfit changes, especially if you plan on going to two different locations. It's fun to snazz up their look or tone it down. It really pans out well for differnt looks & a variety of photos to choose from when ready to print.
